US stock futures fell Tuesday morning as Wall Street returned from the Presidents' Day holiday to another rough start. Tech stocks led the decline, dragged down by ongoing concerns about artificial intelligence.

Stocks In The News

Masimo (MASI), Danaher (DHR): Masimo shares surged in premarket trading after the Wall Street Journal and Financial Times reported that the health tech company is close to being acquired by Danaher for $180 per share - a deal worth around $10 billion in cash. Danaher shares fell on the news.

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), Paramount Skydance (PSKY): Both media companies rose in premarket after Netflix (NFLX) gave Warner Bros. Discovery a seven-day window to hold merger talks with Paramount Skydance, raising hopes of a major media deal.

Vulcan Materials (VMC): Vulcan Materials shares fell sharply in premarket after the construction aggregates company missed both revenue and profit estimates for Q4 2025. On a brighter note, the company grew operating cash flow strongly last year and set a solid EBITDA target for 2026.

General Mills (GIS): General Mills shares fell in premarket after the food giant cut its outlook for the year, now expecting sales to shrink and profits to fall meaningfully compared to last year.

DTE Energy (DTE): DTE Energy shares rose in premarket after the utility company beat earnings expectations for both the fourth quarter and full year 2025. The one caveat: its outlook for 2026 came in at the lower end of what analysts were hoping for.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH): Norwegian Cruise Line shares jumped in premarket after the Wall Street Journal reported that activist investor Elliott Investment Management has built a stake of more than 10% in the company and plans to push for changes to improve performance. Norwegian's stock has trailed rivals Royal Caribbean (RCL) and Carnival (CCL).

Fluor (FLR): Fluor shares rose in premarket despite a disappointing earnings report. The engineering and construction firm missed revenue and profit estimates for Q4 2025 and took a large accounting loss of over $1.5 billion for the year.

Medtronic (MDT): Medtronic shares dipped in premarket despite a solid earnings report. The medical device maker beat its own revenue and profit targets for the quarter and kept its full-year guidance unchanged - suggesting the dip may reflect broader market sentiment rather than company-specific weakness.
